In knitting mittens, they can be made with rib on the back of the hand and plain in the palm, or vice versa.
Before presenting this machine to the public, the manufacturers subjected it to every test, and submitted it to the best critics, and it is pronounced not only durable and strong in its workmanship, but completely covering the field long left open for a perfect circular Knitter.
Manufacturers have expressed their preference for it over every competitor, and unite in pronouncing it the best of its kind ever introduced into the
market.
The needle guides operate automatically, so that the machine may
be run in either direction by simply reversing the crank . The needle
and cam cylinders are so constructed that they work independently at
the will of the operator, who changes from one to the other without
interruption of, or interference with the work.
Each machine is supplied with a dial, or counting device,
accurately indicating the number of rounds produced, whichever way the cylinder may revolve, and the simplicity of its construction is the guarantee of its durability and correct record.
Any or all needles can be raised out of action by means of the switch lever J. Perfect rib top and plain leg stockings can be produced continuously with top bound off and finished in the machine, without the need of setting up the work for each one.
The work is tightened or loosened by means of the Tension Wheel F, turning this raises or depresses the needle cylinder; this removes all necessity for ever changing any of the cams, which are screwed fast to the cam cylinder, obviating the possibility of ever becoming displaced, and insuring their wearing much longer than movable cams.
A small sample of rib and plain Stitch will be sent on receipt of Stamp to pay postage. A pair of men's all Wool Socks will be sent for 40 cents, or a pair of Cotton Socks for 25 cents.
The price of the machines is $45.00, with an extra straight cylinder
and the following extras : 1 spooler, 3 spools, shaker swifts, set up comb,
